"Apse was born out of the philosophy that ethical, ecological and organic design makes a positive difference to our lives."

Who we are:

Apse was born out of the philosophy that ethical, ecological and organic design makes a positive difference to our lives. The directors, Gordon Clarke and Julie Boultby, have been applying this principle for many years, and have seen the difference it makes. When a satisfied client says: ‘I now enjoy coming to work in my new office every day,’ it shows the approach is worthwhile.

Our designs ask how to enhance a place and make it beautiful, while caring for the people that will use it. We use natural, local materials where possible and products that create a healthy internal environment. We believe in sourcing materials ethically and responsibly. We believe in the ‘spirit of the place’ - the unique qualities of people in harmony with the land.

Apse work with commercial, community and domestic clients on projects ranging from sustainable regeneration strategies to eco-homes. We have the capacity to take on building projects of £50,000 to £5 million in value, ranging from a small church toilet installation to an eco-community masterplan. Whatever your project, we offer the same professional approach and attention to detail throughout the process.
